2013 Lt. Joseph P. DiBernardo Memorial Foundation Seminar
1st Annual Seminar was Held June 29 – 30, 2013
The Lt. Joseph P. DiBernardo Memorial Foundation held it’s first annual seminar on June 29 and 30, 2013 in honor and in memory of Joey D. Held at Brookhaven National Laboratory, the seminar provided sixteen hours of firefighter training by some of the top fire department instructors in America. A special welcome kicked off the seminar with FDNY Chief of Department Ed Kilduff.
Firefighter training provided in the weekend event included:
- Deputy Chief Vincent Dunn, FDNY (ret.) – Firefighting in PD’s and Strip Malls
- Battion Chief Frank Montagna, FDNY – Utility Emergency Tactics
- Battion Chief John Salka, FDNY (ret.) – “Get Out Alive” Training
- Captain Mike Dugan, FDNY (ret.) – Truck Company Operations
- Captain Bobby Morris, FDNY – Forcible Entry Tactics
- Captain Tony Tricarico – FDNY (ret.) – Elevator Emergencies
- Firefighter John O’Connell FDNY (ret.) – Collapse Shoring Updates
All of the proceeds from the event support the work of the Foundation to save firefighters’ lives through training and to provide personal life saving ropes.
